Details of Local Guarantor

Featured Replies

I was planning to apply for a tourist visa for Thailand and hence downloaded the visa form for filling. There are 2 questions there to be filled:

  1. Name and Address of Local Guarantor: _______________________

2. Name and Address of Guarontor in Thailand: _______________________

What does it mean? From where I will get a guarantor if I am a newbie going to explore Thailand.

Pls assist.

Thanks.

Just put 'self' or leave blank. You are paying your own way so self should be fine and is what I always used when faced with that type question.

Thanx dear..atleast got a sensible ans..appreciated..!!

Note that some countries (India is one I know of) DO require the name of a local and a Thai guarantor (as well as have flight tickets) for their own nationals before they will issue a visa for Thailand.

Do check with the consulate what their requirements are.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

It is also the case in Belgium. A few years ago, the Thai Embssy required a Thai guarantor when I applied for a Tourist Visa. I simply asked a friend to send me an email and to mention that she accepts that I stay at his home... I am currently holding a Non B Visa & Work Permit so I did not encourter this issue recently...

Definitely not so at the Thai consulate in Antwerp.

At the visa application form downloadable from their website there is no mention of a Thai guarantor.

I never applied for a Thai visa in Antwerp but it seems it is still the case in the Thai Embassy located in Brussels.

Indian Passport holders get 15days visa on arrival. no need to apply if your stay is less than that time. if not you should put in 'self ' as advised earlier.
