My wife's wondering when this Asian economic thing happens will Thais be able to own business in the other countries like Laos and Myanmar ?

And will they be free to cross borders easier ?

And for work permits?

My question is how does Laos and Myanmar compare to Thailand in regards to the red tap for work and staying in the country as a Canadian and Thai ?

The AEC agreements so far only cover a narrow set of professions, but ultimately the idea is to open up further.

Myanmar is still currently very difficult and expensive, only recently became at all possible, mainly for large corporations.

Don't know about Laos, but I know Cambodia's easier and the "informal taxes" less burdensome.
