Hi,

does anyone know what visa a Thai citizen (and uk resident, if that makes any difference?) needs to take a holiday in Florida. Probably a visit to the US embassy in London?

Thanks for any advice.

And when you finally get to fly then try to enter the USA via a hub other than Miami or New York. Two of the worst airports in the world for immigration bad attitude.

If you have a British passport and ESTA approval, you can enter the USA on your British passport without a visa. You will be granted a 90 day admission.

With a Thai passport, you will need to apply for a B1/B2 visitor's visa at the U.S. embassy in Bangkok or Chiang Mai (if you live in that area). The application for a visitor can be made on line. The appointment for the interview is scheduled on line also. I believe the cost is $145 to apply for the visa. You prepay the $145 at a Thai Post Office before the interview is scheduled. If granted, the visa will be good for 10 years. Each visit as a visitor for pleasure (B2) is granted 6 months for each arrival, unless the immigration inspector feels that you do not need that much time.

Beware! The embassy interview can be pretty tough, so have all your supporting paperwork in order.

I would suggest Orlando port of entry. Agree that Miami and New York are not very tourist oriented. Orlando is as it is the gateway for Disney World.

Sorry, I missed the part where the OP said he lives in England. Interview will be much easier in London.
