a wonderful well thought out and emotional tribute to a great actor

i have been reading reviews all day and this one was by far the best

it summed up precisely how i felt about the series and the character James Gandolfini portrayed

parts of it could make up a eulogy for him

thank you so much for posting it

RIP Jimmy. The first season of "The Sopranos" was the best stuff I've ever seen on TV.

+1

The Shield was also a very good US made tv drama - good cop/bad cop. But being a proper bikie, i prefer SOA to even the Sopranos.

You're kidding, no? The SOA team have done a great job with the storyline and even more so with the aesthetics of their show, but the dialogue and characters are very two-dimensional when compared to those other two. Charlie Hunman has come a long way recently I guess, but early on his attempts at sincerity were kind of painful to watch...

No. He is not. I like SOA too, but agree that the Sopranos was a much better show. IMO, probably the best TV series of all time.

IMHO the Sopranos and then Band of Brothers plus 6 Feet Under put HBO on the map for class productions and showed just how good US TV could be.

Real shame that a true talent such as Gandolfini dies so relatively young.
