Fifty years ago, life expectancy in America was about 72 years, today it is about 79. We have better medicine, safer cars, instant communication, cleaner workplaces and access to more knowledge than any previous generation. That progress was largely driven by technology. Of course technology creates new risks and AI should be regulated and kept under human control. But saying AI already has the power to “overrule anything humans can do” or refuses to be turned off is more science fiction than fact. Violence, war and ugly human behavior existed long before social media. Technology simply allows us to see every incident instantly. Bad people may use new technology badly, just as good people will use it to cure diseases, prevent accidents and improve lives. Technology is a tool, not an automatic road to self-destruction. Previous civilizations didn’t collapse merely because they became technologically advanced. Civilization survives by recognizing risks and adapting to them which is something humanity has repeatedly managed to do.
