Transit visa

Featured Replies

Hey there,

i am planning to visit Thailand for a 2 weeks in late August, with a week first in Hong Kong via Bangkok. I am from the UK, so no visa is needed for 30 days.

Now, I have read that there is a fee for transit through Bangkok, to other countries, of 20USD, along with a recent photograph.

I just want to know, is that the only fee that I need to pay?

I will be landing back in Thailand a week later. :)

Thanks for your help,

Craig.

If you are a UK passport holder no visa, transit or otherwise, is required, no fee and no photograph, though the IO will take a photo.

You will be allowed into Thailand for 30 days.

A perfect answer, thank you very much!

Was just a bit confusing, I know that no visa is required for entry, this I can understand for 30 days as a tourist visa.

Wasn't too sure about the transit visa, if any.

I've just re-read your original post, you seem to be transiting BKK enroute to HGK, still no visa required.

A transit visa might be required of a nationality not visa exempt if there was a long time between flights but with visa exempt status you can enter Thailand and spend the night or week waiting for your flight with the normal visa exempt entry of 30 days and then get a new 30 day visa exempt entry on your return leg.
