Artisan
I've heard that the Majestic group is to build a 92-floor skyscraper in Jomtien. The building will be called "The Majestic Tower" and, already, there has been a meeting involving the developers and representatives of local and national real estate agents. The expected start of construction is in July this year. To put it on the map, so to speak, here is a photo of the proposed location and the general area. What are they (the developers and whoever is in charge, or not, of local town planning here) thinking about? Who wants to live so high in the sky? Why do these developers want to take so much away from the locality and put nothing back into the community except concrete, ugliness and long-term disfigurement? I'm sure that most of you will know which developer that I'm referring to..........or is it all just a pie in the sky skyscraper?
Rimmer
It's an attempt to make the Majestic Bistro larger because so many TV members could not find it. Really, look where the arrow is pointing on the picture.
Rimmer
Yep bin wondering when this would surface! OK lets consider what we know in order to try and put this in pespective! *Petronas Towers are 88 stories high. *Taipei 101 is 101 stories high. *An international consortium of Archtects and engineers built Taipei and Petronas. I don't see any Big name companies involved in the 2 year design stage just yet. *The land on Jomtien is no where near expensive enough to financially justify 87 floors. *Three feet under that field is the water table. *I have never seen any tests being carried out for bedrock. *The infrastructure along there barely supports existing property. Roads, power, water, telephone. I could go on and get into the estate agents meeting but lets kick that around first.

Pattaya City council have carefully considered your arguments Rimmer but they still can't see any reason not to continue with this project. Having the water table underneath will save an absolute fortune on water trucks and the traffic problem will be easily solved by installing another 12 sets of untimed traffic lights. The idea of testing for bedrock is just a waste of money.People have been finding rocks all over Jomtien for years and with proper management and controls there will be enough rocks for everyone for a very long time yet. donkeykong
The Jomtien tower is probably a joke but here's a 60-storey twin tower that's REALLY being built in Naklua...... Pity the poor buggers in Sky Beach Condo who are going to lose their Sky and Beach view

Just in case anyone wants to order from the Mjestic Bistro the phone number is 038-7570845 email [email protected] I had the misfortune to order an cup of coffee there which was served cold by a sour faced waitress . Artisan
if you need information just call K TECK company in BKK Yes...K-TECH is the construction company. You must have called them aleady, so please share the information with us. Together with the View Talay Company, they seem to have the whole property development and construction business sown up in and around Jomtien....but, after all, who donated the land to, and carried out the construction of, the Immigration Office in Jomtien for free? The land has been cleared, fenced and materials and equipment are being delivered now. Edited April 5, 2006 by Artisan

If not with KTech I can use you to design my new house away from DogTag Beach, Jomtien. Is that a planaterium you have designed in at the bottom??? Artisan
Is that a planaterium you have designed in at the bottom??? Not quite, but it's for people who don't belong to this planet certainly......it's the new Jomtien Paragon Centre offering fun and "gaiety" away from the usual cruising spots on Dog Tag Beach and Jomtien Complex Plaza.
