Strange anomaly

I have a gmx mail account.

I haven't been on it for a couple of months perhaps.

I checked it out today.

On the iPad I enter my gmx address and password.......and it logs in.

On my Air I enter my gmx address and password.......and it tells me there is an incorrect email address/password combination.

So I can't use the Air.....which is much better for mailing.

Does your password contain characters?... Change your password to only letters & numbers only...

Have you tried deleting your GMX account on your MBA and recreating it? Sometimes that does the trick.

odd, i've had trouble accessing a yahoo account using the apple email client on my MBP today - same message about incorrect login details despite many attempts with the correct entries for my yahoo account. it's working now again but seems to be working in mysterious ways and is randomly retreiving old emials and flagging them and moving them to the flagged folder - random emails from different senders and from the last few months....

I also have problems with wifi on the Air (detailed elsewhere on TV) and am waiting the opportunity to re-install the system as I am told by the black Mac shop he thinks it's not a hardware problem.

Perhaps I'll let that happen first and if no change try what Bubba suggested.
