Thai airbus 380 SYD-BKK

Featured Replies

Just read an article in bangkok post, the last of 6 A380's ordered by thai airways has been slotted in to the SYD-BKK route, with their passenger cappacity should keep prices reasonable or compete with qantas- emarities, a win win situation for us down under!

That's good news and about time. Virtually every other major airline has placed A380s on it's Sydney routes before other routes (such as Singapore Airlines, Qantas and Emirates) and I knew it would be only a matter of time before THAI decided to do so. Those old, rickety 747s they currently use on the route really need to be retired ASAP.

I agree the 2nd last trip home with thai, the 'spare' jumbo still had the communal movie screen on the fwd bulkhead of the section, a blast from the past, the last trip flew from brisbane 777's my favourite.

The bad news is that delivery of the final two of the six A380's that THAI had ordered (the ones destined to service London and Sydney) has been delayed by Airbus. THAI has already made a statement that the planned LHR A380 service won't start until late 2014 so keep your eyes peeled for announcements if the service 'downundah' will be similarly challenged.

Melbourne route they generally use the 777's from memory. Good planes to fly with all the mod cons.
