3 best cities to walk around easily, see interesting sites & eat well

Featured Replies

so far, my favourite 3 are penang, hanoi (around the lake), and chiang mai. any other suggestions?

Kanchanaburi!

I fine Vientiane to be walker friendly, most major Thai towns or cities simply don't cater for walkers,no pavements or open green spaces in sight.

London, Prague and Amsterdam. Sydney would be up there too.

I agree with vientiane, prague and amsterdam. You can also add budapest, geneva and antwerp

when you get tired of walking, there is excellent public transportation.

I live in Chiang Mai. it wouldn't make my top 100 list.

If you was referring thailand, nong khai, songhkla, & pattaya ( you have to admit some of the wildlife can amaze)

You never mentioned that you haven't been out of SEAsia.

That being the case, you wouldn't really know what a walker friendly city is, especially if you include Chiang Mai, which is a permanent obstacle course and a nightmare for anyone with a disability!

Boston, Prague, Penang

+1 Boston !
