The man said he did the crime with friends overseas, using passwords and foreign card codes registered in the European Union sent to him by his gang members.

Gang!! This word sounds great in this tech. era where tech gigs prefer to work alone... cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

Me thinks you do not know what your talking about.

The man said he did the crime with friends overseas, using passwords and foreign card codes registered in the European Union sent to him by his gang members.

The suspect was initially charged with making counterfeit electronic cards.

As, it says in an above statement, my thinking was, mostly ATM frauds happens with the help of banking/ATM personnel, or POS executive(s).

I was just laughing to read the word 'GANG'. Getting 'James Bond' type of a picture in my mind... LOL

11 of them got into the photo opp including the one foreign looking guy in the black shirt. One would wonder how the Thai police do their work when so many are always available for photo ops and recreations.

The foreign looking guy could be one of the many police from around the world who work with the BiB. FBI, AFP and many other agencies are here, as far as I know, every embassy and consulate have representatives of thier respective countries federal law enforcement agencies stationed here, as well as in most, if not all countries where they have an embassy or consulate.

Looks like that foreign guy is experiencing Thainess via this strange police parading photo-op.

"for he fit is easy to enter and leave the country and there are many ATM machines here."

Anyone else struggle with this sentence?

Anybody notice that every suspected criminal apprehended in Thailand confesses? Must have some great detectives like on TV that can outsmart the suspects.

I've noticed this too and I find it very strange. What is the point of confessing, is it that they get reduced centences or what? If I ever sunk till a level where I made a living as a thief and got caught by the law I would deny everything until proven guilty, everything else is just plain stupid...

Think "Electric nutsack"

This scum bag's motive was to use Thailand as headquarters for he's planned operations, this happens all over the place , not only Thailand , including my country OZ, they seem to originate quiet often from Malaysia in Oz , so nothing new here, only something new for our Russian friend when the door slams behind him and he's behind he will need to protect to survive.bah.gif

On a per capita population rate, There are more Australians in Jail in Thailand than most other western countries.

Yes, he was arrested at the Ibis Bangkok Nana hotel, 41 Sukhumvit Road, Soi 4, Klongtoey. My GF and I were staying in the same hotel when the arrest happened. Lovely place. coffee1.gif

Did he pay his bill by credit card?

Ever seen a Thai detective shuffling around in an old raincoat with a cigar in his mouth?

imagine all those scammers telling

the local BIB

how to run the scam

what future will that bring...

and none will get arrested as those people only get transferred when caught

I have it on very good authority that this foreign looking guy is an other world Alien who works for The United States Department of Homeland Security and has infiltrated his way into the RTP!

Let me see.. how can I make sure I stand out and be noticed.

I know I will use each machine 6 times with different cards each time.

Surely this guy should be jailed for stupidity...

If you were going to do this you would use each ATM only once per few days... there are enough around to keep you busy.. use one near Nana grab skytrain to MBK, put on a cap and glasses use one there, have lunch grab skytrain to asoke, diifernet cap and shirt no glasses, use one there.. spot of shopping in Emporium, across the road with no cap glasses and different shirt, use one there , finally back to Cowboy for a bit of fun, go to machine there.. done for day .. next day its the Arabic look with different teatowel head dress

for each machine....

Its not that hard to be a bit intelligent re this....

Plus also you get to play dress up.. perhaps the Chief Sitting Bull full headers would be a touch over the top but hell put on a baseball cap you become American, put on a arabic headers.. saudi... a fez Moroccan... even a skull cap.. Ooi better I should go to a different machine....

Is the Russian tourist trade actually a Russian government plot to increase the average IQ number of the remaining Russians ??

You forgot to sy that dressing up as a monk would be a good idea.

Silly to do a crime in Thailand where there is a small cell with 50 prisoners crammed into it and without a Air Con or a Fan.

imagine the farts

None too bright is he. Considering how many ATM's there are in any mall in Thailand why would you risk taking money out of ONE ATM using 6 different cards, no that's not to suspicious.

Posted

ridiclous, I guess though if he was finding it that easy to take the money 6 visits to the same machine using multiple cards may have seemed negligble risk.

well deserved to be caught

This is the ugly result of high unemployment. Isn't it?

Isn't it? At least send him home. Quickly. Use the cash and put him on a plane. Cancel any future visas.

Catching these guys seems to be a daily occurrence, but deterring others seems not a priority.

I've often yearned for the good old days when people were put in the stocks in public places.

Pikeybkk got it right......he's a translator, dealt with him many times. Not a law enforcement officer of any kind. Just translates what the cop says to the bad guy and back to help fill out all the paperwork.
