PATTAYA:--

Doctors and city administrators visited neighborhoods from Naklua to central Pattaya to provide health-care services and help stamp out disease-carrying mosquitoes.

Great solution presented by Hadyn Parry at TEDtalks called Re-engineering mosquitos to fight disease

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpsRAk5HpK4

Seems a great idea that would not take a lot of money to set up, I had a similar idea and that was to re-engineer mosquito DNA that produced males that their genes would only produce males, with the same genes.

same technology maybe could be used to get rid of fire ants and termites, and other species of insects.

Down side is the same engineering could be used to get rid of other species that important to our eco system, ie say it is used to get rid of wasps but buy mutation also rids the world of bees, lets not forget myxomatosis and the problems that brought with its misuse.
