Supreme Commander not worried about infamous voice clip

BANGKOK, 13 July 2013 (NNT) – Supreme Commander General Tanasak Patimapragorn has expressed no concerns over the audio clip of a conversation between former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and Deputy Defense Minister Yutthasak Saksiprapha.

The Supreme Commander said he would not let the voice clip get his attention even though his name was mentioned in the clip, adding that he has no issues with Deputy Defense Minister Yutthasak. The general also mentioned about the possibility of former Prime Minister Thaksin returning home, saying the matter is up to the court, not the military. However, General Tanasak affirmed that the military will abide by rules and regulations.

The conversation between Mr. Thaksin and Minister Yutthasak in the audio clip included various issues regarding politics, which included the situation in the Deep South, military reshuffle, and a plan to bring Mr. Thaksin home.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul has expressed his appreciation to the military for its stance for not supporting coup d'etat as it could not be internationally accepted.

Supreme commander. What a title....

More like Taco Supreme!

As the FM says it is very good of the military not to announce publicly it wants a coup d'état..... before it happens.

" The military will abide by rules and regulations ", now that will be a first.

I can understand why Surapong would be grateful. Another job might be hard to find for a man of his limited talents, without the pressure of nepotism.

Supreme commander. What a title....

Ben Laden had this title coffee1.gif

Supreme commander. What a title....

So he's the big boss in Thailand then?

Yep. If 1941 is any indicator, he'll be the one to announce a General Surrender.

Thought Thaksin said he will not get involved with politics anymore, and why does nobody stop the politicians from meeting him overseas.

If I were to visit a convicted criminal the authorities would fry me over this, but in Thailand everything is possible

The correct title is Chief of the Defense Forces IAW the Organization of Ministry of Defense Act of 2008.

That sounds a little less daunting than supreme Commander. Supreme commander has certain star wars ring to it...
