to use the vinegar to make buttermilk with milk

the vinegar in the supermarket label as 5% Distill Vinegar. is this the right vinegar for it or should be other type ?

i also saw a gallon type vinegar with label 100% distill vinegar whats the difference.

To make a buttermilk substitute, mix 1 cup whole milk and 1 tablespoon lemon juice or white wine vinegar together. Let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes, then stir well and use.

Bangkokeye, which branch of villa sells buttermilk and who is the manufacturer? I have looked for it and all I see in yellow package is banana milk.

In Chiang Mai, we're lucky Dacheeso dairy makes genuine buttermilk. For those who might not know, buttermilk is the liquid left after the butter is churned. Most so-called buttermilk you buy nowadays at least in the USA - is actually cultured skim milk.

one wants know if that is the right vinegar ?

5% Distill Vinegar

5% is the right kind. You don't need wine vinegar which is a lot more expensive.
