Tony Blair was right to say that politics needs help: Thai opinion

Featured Replies

It seems very difficult to keep this thread on topic.

The start point was Mr Blair presenting his own opinions on how less well-developed Asian countries can learn lessons from the successes and failures of the developed world.

His comments were based on his experience of holding the position of Prime Minister for a significant amount of time. In my opinion, I doubt he would consider every decision he made as PM was perfect, in hindsight. A leader is someone who makes decisions based on the information to hand. An effective leader doesn't bugger about playing 'let's wait and see games'. Unlike the poster who wants to sit there and do nothing.

So, whether Mr Blair started a war because it seemed like a good idea, or Mr Bush (where'd he come from in this topic?) is better than Mr Blair, or Mr Clinton or .........

Perhaps serving for 25 years in the military means some people are waiting to be told what to think. They fit in very well in Thailand where pro-active thought is not encouraged.

Has Mr Blair offered some suggestions which are worthy of consideration?

Btw, yes I believe K Abhisit is being used as a distraction to allow PTP to carry on unhindered.
