NBD Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Taking my wife over to France to visit friends and family and (inevitably!) she wants to take some cooking stuff. No plalaa or meat or anything. Just some bottled sauces and maybe some curry paste. Can't find anything to say definitely not but wondered if anyone knew otherwise?
craigt3365 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 As long as it is sealed in bottles, and checked, I doubt you'll have problems. If you do run into any, it'll be in France on arrival. Best to check that countries rules for bringing in food stuffs. Fresh foods are generally a no no.
David48 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 My Thai gf has bought heaps into Australia and maybe some general principles can apply. Glass bottles are not a good idea. If you have to (have glass) wrap a sock, then another around them to try and stop the glass coming into contact together. None of it can be in the 'Carry-On' luggage. Pack it at the top of your suitcase which goes in the luggage hold. Declare it before entering. We have never had an item refused bringing stuff into Australia, and we have fairly strict quarantine laws. .
