Visa Exempt Extension-Correct Visa Strategy?

Featured Replies

What is my correct Visa strategy to extend a 30 day Visa Exempt status?

USA Citizen over age 50, entered Kingdom 10 days ago on 30 day exemption.

Married to Thai and have Thai children who are with me now.

Have 800K in bank, shows on bankbook, since April, 2013.

I need to stay another 15 days or so after exemption expires. I would prefer to handle this locally in Bangkok rather than leave country.

Also is there a long term strategy I should pursue?

I come about 3 times a year; first a month and half during summer in the West, and for about two - weeks at a time for visits two and three at other times of the year.

Cheers All.

Thanks

Vist immirgation with wife and or children, their birth certificate, household registration marriage certificate and you wil get a 60 day extension of stay for visiting your wife/children.

Next time, apply for a multiple non-O visa before you come, valid for 1 year. Each time you enter Thailand during that year you can stay for up to 90 days.

Thank you Mario,

I am on the Thonburi side of Bangkok. Is a visit to Suan Plu required or can this be done at Chang Wattana.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Suan Phu is only for jail time - immigration matters are done at Chiang Watanna for Bangkok residents. But if you are on other side of river expect you need to go to Nonthaburi office in Bang Bua Tong
