I was not impressed with it. The lack of lighting put me off rite away.

Ive seen more light in a romantic restaurant well almost. It was not as big as I had thought it would be. That was my expectations tricking me again. Maybe if I go there a few more times. A movie a meal at Dukesbiggrin.png and some shopping.

Normally I don't have to put my glasses on until I am looking at the price. There I found myself having to use them several times to see what the product was. They were really good with signs over the products such as soups or seasonings. But they didn't have them so you could read them with out walking down the aisle. No signs at the end of the aisles showing what was in the aisle you had to walk down it.

As far as service behind the counters I didn't purchase any thing at any of them but they appeared to be alert behind the counters.

Are you sure you were at Rimping Promenada? They had a large number of can lights pointing at the product, aisles were well marked. The ceiling was dimly lit. It was very crowded and like most big malls/stores, until you have been there a few times to familiarize yourself you can feel lost. I found it large, well signed, and with a quite impressive inventory. The biggest thing lacking was any sort of adequate parking for more than a motorcycle or Honda Jazz down below. Also, there is a GNC, a book store, and a restaurant located within the Rimping store.

My compliments to the hiring manager for the other benefits.

What do they have there that is not available at the river branch?

And if it's not, I'm sure a word would bring it forth.

Or, what do they have that's not in the Mechok branch??

BTW......any idea which branch is the largest at this point??

Regarding what items are/will be in each of the stores, do not worry, management will be providing NDEES, non discriminatory equal experience, shopping. If an item is out of stock in one store, it will be taken off the shelves at all other stores.

Recently a friend introduced me to Macro Hang Dong. I found the selection of imported foods and prices better than Rim Ping. There was also good service. Rim Ping is not the only game in town.

Totally agree with you Don on Hang Dong Makro being [almost] on par with Rimping and at a fraction of RP's prices. Expanding import food section, fresh vegetables, seafood, meat and larger frozen food selection. My main worry is that now that CP has taken over majority ownership that they will only supply CP corporate meats.

10+ years ago we used to give Rimping 90% of our shopping and now it's the HD Makro that gets it.

Rimping is my local supermarket and we shop there all the time for the past x years, but have to say they are getting above their station by pushing the price envelope a little too far these days, they need to be very careful because there are other solid choices.

I find Rimping good for things like Bread ,meat ,wine ,soup .biscuits ,Coffee ,milk and cheese .On those things their price is competive with Tesco etc .

^ Their in-store bakeries are fabulous, luv the German brotchen with the crispy exterior, bringing me back, methaphorically, to the goode olde days of the Black Forest.

Rimping (iron bridge) has the best bread at fair prices. Their California cheeses are a bargain. They also have the lowest prices on Tipco and Chabaa fruit juices. Much cheaper than Lotus or Big C. Produce is a bit higher, but so is the quality. Meats are higher, but again, the quality is worth it.

Started using MAKRO Hang Dong in the past 2 weeks. Great parking, good prices and their cheese seems the cheapest in town.

In this age of computerisation and data bases, it should not be difficult to post around the store, some folders listing alphabetically, where products are.

Would someone like to translate into English what "grits" are? I thought that went into car parks when it was icy.

The Promenada Rimping had some cheeses at two for the price of one.

Like I said in my previous post I found myself having to use my glasses more often and the aisles were unmarked as to the product in them. But they did have good marking over the product when you were facing it. For instance you would see all kinds of pasta.

It was kind of funny we asked one of the staff where to find the spices. I had walked by them already and she said she would have to draw me a map but instead opted to take me there.

Ah nice! I'm going to have to check that out. I used to eat brotchen every weekend as a school kid back in Germany (US Mil family, living off base). Straight from the bakery in the morning, still hot and fresh. Good stuff!

Parking at Promenada is no worse than riverside or airport. And additional parking seems almost ready, making it far better than anywhere else.

Let me take this back. smile.png

It's pretty terrible on weekends, even with the additional parking lot.

The Rim Ping though is incredible. I also like the additional architecture they did with the faux village houses for the staff work areas.

And there is a Thom's Coffee outlet, with the old guy himself making coffee. That places is absolutely world class. Just the grinder he uses is amazing. (I looked it up, it's a Versalab M3.

If you don't know what grits are you probably have been around the largest free world server of grits. It has been proven by the American Indian FDA that grits make you smart and increase your libido. If you need to increase your sexaul drive and intelligence you need to eat grits every day. No need to wait. Now is the time to get on board. Have you ever seen more stronger looking people than American Indians. Euroids and the people from those small british islands are slow about catching on to great traditional American Indian foods. If you can eat haggis you have a good stomach and grits would go down good.

If you didn't grow up on grits then you probably won't like them. If you did, then you understand.

I grew up in Texas with hominy and grits and didn't like them even then. Ok, hominy was somewhat acceptable. smile.png

Wrong Kemosabe. You can eat grits from now until dooms day, and your sexual drive will not increase nor would your IQ go up, lol. However, your waist line may increase a little since grits is made from corn. Hi-yo, Silver, away.
