Notice I need quite a few new remote controls for TV's and aircons, different makes. Anybody knows about a shop which is well assorted where I could maybe buy everything in one go?

Amorn in basement of Big C used to have a good selection but recently they seem not to have restocked. For the best selection goto Southern Dynatech on Krabi Road (sort of the road behind Thai Airlines office in Phuket Town).

In Kata on Patak Rd. opposite Chatchai Barber is one of those tin roofed "cheap shops" as I like call them. Selling all manner of household things like tools, glasswear, and everything which has ever made of plastic. They have a 2m by 2m wall covered in remotes.

Any of the Power Buys have universal TV remotes.

This is indeed your best bet. The market, known locally as 'Phuket Variety, is at the top end of Wirat Hongyok Road, not far from the intersection with Chao Fah West

A while back the GF got a new remote for an aircon somewhere in Chalong. She can't remember exactly where, but the point of the post is to say that the remote was not for the particular brand, but universal for all.

Works well if you can't find the brand you want.

There is an electric shop across from Robinson's, as you are heading East. Pass Macdonalds and just to your right is an alley. In that corner, right side of alley, is an electrical shop. If you go past the market/traffic light, you have gone too far.

The small store is deceiving. It is quite long inside.
