America and Iran's 'blind' war

Featured Replies

It's pretty clear that this war between US/Israel and Iran is being hidden, visually, from the rest of the world. Both sides are basically preventing very few images to make it onto our social media feeds or mainstream newscasts. This is a 180 degree difference from previous 'Gulf' wars and other conflicts, where the imagery was everywhere either live or near-live.

What we are left with in this conflict is propaganda from all sides. We're told the US launched 80 strikes on Iranian targets, Iran responded by attacking US bases in Qatar and Kuwait with 85 strikes. But there are few if any images to back it up. It is effectively a blind war as far the rest of us are concerned. Very little to no verifications. It is almost a 1984-style of constant war - with nothing to show - just Big Brother telling us what to believe.

Journalists have complained about it..

I fear this is the future for all military conflicts. We'll never again get to see what's happening, and when we do, it could be faked.

AI response....quite interesting.......

The U.S. doesn’t want:

  • markets spooked

  • oil prices surging

  • allies panicking

  • accusations of starting a new Middle East war

  • distraction from domestic politics

Iran doesn’t want:

  • to look weak

  • to look like it’s losing assets

  • to admit U.S. strikes are effective

  • to trigger internal unrest

  • to provoke a full U.S. retaliation

— it’s strategic silence.

Yes, basically mutually beneficial I guess. Still it takes complicity by Western media doesn't it. Even if the SatFeed companies self- censor, the big and even medium organizations could still find workarounds to find images. Maybe they've been threatened?
