I have a DTAC Sim card which costs 200 Baht per month. Old phone couldn't do 3 G.

They told me it 3G is active but expensive unless I pay something extra per month.

Usually I am at home and have Wifi. need 3G only when I travel, which is rare.

What shall I do? How to safe block the phone from using 3G at all at home.

How to save costs when travel?

any ideas?

What is the make/model?

Can you share any details on your DTAC plan/promotion? Pre-paid? Post-paid? What does it include?

Do you want to use 3G when you are away from your home? Where do you travel to? Within Thailand?

What is your budget for 3G?

must be that: http://www.dtac.co.th/en/postpaid/products/SaveSave210.html or a very similar one. All invoices stay with our accounting.

but I pay 214 Baht (200+7% VAT)

Normally I don't call anyone so I don't pay anything more than the fixed amount.

Travel only within Thailand and maybe once every 2 month. Actually mostly for emergency when there is no other option.

If that is indeed your current post-paid plan then you might want to exercise some caution, turn data on/off or monitor it, or get a data plan, as you will be paying extra, albeit 85 satang per MB, for data.
