Popular Post OMGImInPattaya Posted July 28, 2013 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2013 Probably sounded like a good idea at the time. 5
wolf5370 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Are all the foreigners Ukrainian or just the leader? Wonder how they got caught?
Popular Post OzMick Posted July 28, 2013 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2013 You too can have an extended stay in Thailand at a very low cost! 12
Popular Post borisloosebrain Posted July 28, 2013 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2013 Very glad they've been caught. Having once had my account cleaned out I know how it feels ! And it's not a good feeling ! 10
Garry Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 He employed three Thai men, I gues one is still on the hoof 1
hanno Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Are all the foreigners Ukrainian or just the leader? Wonder how they got caught? The Siam Commercial Bank first alerted the Police to the problem Seems like the bank was on the ball.
Scully Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 7 foreign nationals and 2 Thai men arrested, yet there are 10 people sat down hiding their faces.
chrisinth Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 He employed three Thai men, I gues one is still on the hoof Looks like there are 10 sat at the table, 7 x farangs and 3 x Asians. Unless the farang on the far left is a volunteer and just needed a rest. Or the Asian on the right is just copying what the rest are doing by hiding his face. Edit: Sorry Scully, you beat me to it with the maths.................. 1
oxo1947 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Wow very bad crime----Stealing money from a Bank, I guess there be the usual calls for them to be hung.................
Popular Post Salapoo Posted July 28, 2013 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2013 Honestly, why don't these guys all head off in different directions to different towns/cities, then return with their loot, without ever once doing it with an ATM in Pattaya. It's like banging 10 different chicks that live in your condo building then being surprised when you get caught. And involving locals? It's a sign of the technological age that such dumb people can get this sort of technology. 3
Popular Post wolf5370 Posted July 28, 2013 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2013 Wow very bad crime----Stealing money from a Bank, I guess there be the usual calls for them to be hung................. No they are stealing money from the accounts the fake cards are linked to - customer accounts (with the added bonus of being whacked for 150 baht ATM charge and crap exchange rate to boot) 4
Popular Post bigbamboo Posted July 28, 2013 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2013 This guy is in real trouble now. He had three Thais working for him yet the law clearly states you must employ four. 28
Popular Post bangkokheat Posted July 28, 2013 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2013 welcome to hell you low life bast..ds, cant stand thieves 4
technologybytes Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 They will not spend long in a Thai jail, as there will have been no loss to Thai people or Thai Banks. They are using overseas accounts to draw money from Thai ATM's, but there is no loss to the Thai banks.
LuckyLew Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Lot of human rubbish comes from that region. Where pattaya? or is pattaya just where they congregate?
khunJeroen Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Hope they will be locked away for life and pay back with interest. Only with serious penalties it may stop these criminals.

brfsa2 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I wonder who are the 2 foreigners standing behind on the left? maybe interpol? or Ukranian police? 2
PoodMaiDai Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Lot of human rubbish comes from that region. And gathers in that region of Thailand. 1
petercool Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I wonder who are the 2 foreigners standing behind on the left? maybe interpol? or Ukranian police? One in the white shirt is a Belgian who does translation work and other things for police and the shorter one next to him is half Thai and does similar work for investigation teams. 2
Colabamumbai Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Very glad they've been caught. Having once had my account cleaned out I know how it feels ! And it's not a good feeling ! Could you elaborate on that as any information would I am sure be helpful to all, as to how it happend? Where? Etc. Thanks other than the bad feeling part we all know that one.
Popular Post thaibreaker Posted July 28, 2013 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2013 Wow very bad crime----Stealing money from a Bank, I guess there be the usual calls for them to be hung................. It`s not the bank they steal from, Sherlock, but customers. These ATM cards have been obtained by using skimming divices in advance. These now empty bank accounts could be yours or mine, so yes, I would call for the hanging brigade every day of the week in this case. Btw, try to get your stolen money back from the banks in Thailand.. Good luck with that. 7
Popular Post Colabamumbai Posted July 28, 2013 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2013 Now you don't see us good Canadians involved in this kind of thing. We were all made to go To Catholic Church by our parents on Sundays. Confess our sins, to someone we never met, in a dark vestibule and say the "Hail Marys", and get on with it. We could go and sin again for another week. 3
tonneke breda Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 How foolish, everybody knows you can only take out 20.000 baht at 1 time and Thai banks are charging 150 baht per transaction. They better had done the job somewhere were you can take out more. 1
Phatcharanan Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Wow very bad crime----Stealing money from a Bank, I guess there be the usual calls for them to be hung................. Ok..........hang them. But seriously, your complacent attitude has no comprehension on what that stolen money may be used for, or where it ends up.

No Thai will even look twice if you use your card twice in a row and that soon adds up.
janpharma Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 It's about time to see what kind of tourists Thailand wants...the Russian mob?...The ever seeking problem Indians...The non-respecting Arabs...or the rest?

No Thai will even look twice if you use your card twice in a row and that soon adds up. There are limits stated by your bank. 20.000 bath for each withdrawel, usually 50.000 a day for thai ATM cards. Can be changed by yourself to 200.000 if wanted. The 15 bath you talk about must be from a thai ATM card, any foreign card used in Thailand, has a 150 bath fee. I have also seen a 180 bath fee in fact. It is only AEON bank (japanese) that does not have a foreign fee, they have no fee since they are not part of the thai banks. But you of course have to pay the fee from your own bank back home. 3
