I have just installed Windows XP and Media Player V. 10 .

When I play Windows Video files from my Hard Disk the program introduces apparently random sounds at various points during playback - Whistles, Drum Rolls etc. - which are not part of the Video File.

Any idea where these come from and how I can turn them off??
