Second Hand Cars.... Finding it hard to find one at fair price

Hello. I was hoping someone may have advice on where to look for a fair priced second hand budget car? Im finding it real hard to justify the prices that are on offer out there and as my first 3 cars in Thailand were all new, I have no experience in buying second hand - im shocked at the prices people are asking!

My budget is around 400,000 Baht. Im looking for a run around for the mrs, something small and simple like a Nissan March, Suzzy Swift, Toyota Yaris etc.

A new Automatic Nissan March lists fro around 485K. On-line, a 3 year old AT March is advertised for around 400K. For just another 85k we would be better off just buying a new one?

Honda Jazz is the worst... I cant get my head around the asking prices but a Jazz dating back to 2004/5 advertises for around 400k! Thats almost a 10 year old car!

Same with a Yaris. I just seen for sale a 1 year old AT for just 35,000 baht less than the current list price. <deleted>?

Basicly for around 400K I should be ablle to find a nearly new motor somewhere with low miles? AM I currently looking in the wrong places?

Also is it beter to buy private here or buy froma dealer and if its the latter, can anyone suggest a couple of decent dealers in Bangkok? I live in Hua Hin but im guessing I would be better off going to BKK?

We normally always buy new as well, as not much savings on the second hand market ...

Although we just sold 2010 Nissan March - Top model - orange - to tent on Pattanankan road in Bangkok for 330k

FYI... Also has rain guards and piñon gold rims about a year ago.

All check ups on time and at the dealership... Listed in the book

Can't remember the mileage exactly, but its pretty low, as wife only used it for back and forth to work

As if your budget is 400k, sounds like that still leaves them room for about 20% margin and still meet your budget...

The fact you know how much try bought it for a few months ago may also help you out in negotiations ...
