Green Cardamon availability

Featured Replies

Ive looked all over town and cant find this stuff, sure there is heaps of white cardamon which all looks very old and dried out. I like making good spicy Indian style curries and green cardamon is one of the ingredients I like to put in.

Has anyone seen this spice anywhere? Very very common in Dubai but unfortunately I dont work in the Middle East any more.

Yes, it's available in the spice seller's shop in Talat Waraot (aka Kad Luang), inside the main food bazaar. There are other threads here on this forum where you'll find that shop discussed in detail. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/644483-where-exactly-is-the-indian-spices-seller-located-at-kad-luang/

Expensive, but worth it !

Also available at a small shop on Wichayanon, just west of the US Consulate.

They don't have quite the range of ingredients that are available at the shop in Kad Luang, but they're probably a little easier to locate!

Went to Warrot market and saw the guy n the Bombay shop/stall. Excellent spices and yes got the green cardamon I was after. Thanks for the directions etc...

To save myself a possibly wasted journey, has anyone seen ginger paste (without the added sugar that is usually found in such for western taste/dishes) in either shop?

unfortunately I dont work in the Middle East any more

This may be the first recorded use of this phrase, and I'm here to witness it!
