ILR with no divorce document

Featured Replies

We are just about to apply for ILR in the uk but we cant find my wifes divorce document, she seems to think it was retained at the Amphur when they issued us our Marriage certificate.Has this happened to anyone else?Do you think UKBA will accept this in a written explanation or should we try and get a copy from Thailand. This would not be easy as we are both in the UK and Thai govt. offices are always reluctant to issue documents to anyone other than ID holder.Any help would be appreciated.

How did your evidence this when applying for the settlement visa?

I wouldn't even attempt this without the document.

It would be cheaper to let her go back to Thailand for a week than risk losing the 1100-1400 visa fee.
