Hi,

Just a quick question about "Evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions" supporting documents for a UK citizenship application.

The form states that my wife must supply either ;

- "Your passport showing permission to remain permanently in the UK or

- The Home Office letter by which you were given permission to remain permanently in the UK"

My wife has been issued with a biometric residency permit therefore there is nothing in her passport that shows permission to remain permanently in the UK and the only letter she received from the home office stated that a biometric residence permit will be sent under seperate cover i.e. It dosn't actually state that she has been given permission to stay in the UK.

The common sense answer would be to send the biometric residence permit. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do?

We applied early July and got a decision 3 weeks later. I had the same thought as you but the biometric card is sufficient.

By the way, I would strongly recommend getting the checking service at your local authority - you'll get the application right first time and will get back all your documents.
