Longtime Ex-Pat Tim Young has passed away , Wanchai RIP !

Featured Replies

I don't know all the details but ,Tim or Papa Tata as the girls called him (He was Thai Pop star Tata Young's Dad) passed away from word a friend just text me. I immediately called Randy @ Goldfingers in PatPong to see when the wake would be , Randy said they had one last night and as soon as Tata returned from a trip to NY she had been on , he would let me know when the Cremation ceremony and wake would take place.

Tim and I went back to the Grand Prix days of PatPong , Rick Menard introduced me to him ,but I kind of knew Tim already ,in a strange way. When I arrived here in '88 Tim was having by-pass heart surgery and Doug Harrison was bringing him food that I was teaching his cooks at the Texxan ( soon to be Bourbon St.) in Washington Sq.

I will update this as soon as I get more info , so anyone interested who knew Tim ,please hold on. Thx , BB

Yes I knew and was a good friend of Tim I am so sorry to hear this....

I worked with his daughter in the 90s, not very successfully I might add, but he was always trying to get her to go "inter"

I guess she did in the end.

Every night in Goldfinger in PP ... Such a character !!

RIP Tim
