I am using Win 2K, when I log in to an internet site which requires Name and Password, Windows kindly inserts both for me. It also inserts both for anyone else using my computer so to have at least some security I have to password the startup!

How can I turn off this helpful facility, not only for the current sets it knows but for any future logins, it must store them somewhere, in the registry?

Thanks,

Colin

This is a browser issue, not a windows2000 issue. I'll assume you are using Internet Explorer.

Go to "Internet Options/Content/Personal Information

Click on "Auto Complete"

Uncheck the bottom two boxes that deal with passwords and usernames.

If you need help with a different browser, please let us know.

Thanks. I am using Mozilla Firefox, I looked for something similar to the IE 'Auto Complete' but no luck yet, can you help with Firefox?
