German Legs It, Dumping Brand New Car After Failing To Stop At Checkpoint.

Man hunt underway for German suspect who failed to stop at a Police Checkpoint and who dumped his brand new car and escaped on foot.

An interesting case now from Banglamung Police Station. A Police Checkpoint was set up in Nongprue sub-district on Wednesday Night and it wasn’t long until officers were called into action when a Black BMW 7 series car failed to stop. A chase ensued and officers failed to locate the car again until it was too late.

The abandoned car was found near a government building and inside was a Thai woman who explained that the owner of the car had fled carrying two bags. Back at the Police Station, the owner of the car was found to be Mr. Norbet from Germany and the woman, Khun Anchallee aged 30 was found to be carrying 1 ½ Yabba Tablets which she claimed was given to her by the German man without her knowledge. She also explained that he would make frequent trips between Pattaya and Koh Samui.

The fact that he was happy to dump this expensive car so he could escape with the two bags suggests he may have been in possession of items of considerable value which he did not want officers to see such as narcotics. The hunt is now on for the German suspect and all ports and airports have been informed to detain this man should he attempt to leave the country. Khun Anchallee is continuing to help Police with their enquiry.

Bags of loot? Drugs? money, or all three..... If he had stopped and was caught in possession then big trouble and the slammer...as it is he will probably be charged (if found) with failing to stop and disobeying the BIB.

They know to watch him now at any rate, not to mention prob the possibility of being black listed.

He knew his girfriend had Yabba on her and was afraid to stop thinking that he would be arrested for her possesion. He was so affraid that he left his car behind and fled. :D

Why did she sit in the car and wait? :D Now she is helping police :o Maybe they should give her a urine test first and see if she is a user.

:D:D:D:D

i think the police will be able to charge him with anything,

Within one hour of being in police custody i would imagine he will be signing a statement written in thai confessing to any crime the police wish to take off there books, (incuding running with two bags)

Its a good job that his name isnt POL POT :D or the Thai police would never be able to find him. :o

Well, as usual some interesting retorts from the average joe...

this is a long shot i know, but did the german run because he needed some exercise, did he really want a red car instead, maybe it was the girls fault that he ran? or did he run because he had been committing a crime/s?

I don't know where it is ok to make allowances from criminal behaviour and so, I do not...as i understand it...in a democracy...the authorities (parliament, state institutions etc) have sole responsiblity for the handling of crime...if justice is to have any value in a society in creating a just society to live in, then (according to Kant) justice requires an equal distribution amongst those deserving it, whether the type of justice is remunerative, political or commutative...a rationa underlying principle is that a crime is a crime and will be dealt with fairly, not by avoiding one's responsibilities...this only denies justice being accorded.

over the last 12 months drugs have killed and maimed more people then George Bush, Tony Blair and John Howard...and as i believe they all acted criminally, and should be dealt with by the law, equally the german gentleman should take responsibility for his actions, and accept punishment...

surely, taking responisibility for one's actions is somewhere near the apex of a couragous, rational and socially constructive act...

do we really want to condone and support those who insist on acting antisocially and break the law?

Busted! :o What will they charge him with? Fleeing? Fleeing with 2 bags? :D

eerm basically all they have so far is the fact that he ran a "red light", or better a cop acting as a red light... read checkpoint,

and a parking ticket for badly parking his BMW, although once you have a 7 series in Thailand you can basically park it wherever the <deleted>#@ you wish...

They should however charge the woman for having Ya Ba in her posession... but no its the farang who gave it to her... so she's ok...

THEREFORE, suppose you get caught in Thailand with some Yabba in your possession you just say, "Hey its the Thai guy who gave it to me..." and theoretically you're allright then... or is this another case of TIT??? the reverse psychology doesn't work here

Funny thing is, every one knows where he is,... in which casino he's hiding, but nothing is done about this.

Duang Chalerm visited him for a while when he escaped from military prison??? Talking about a Hilton... I'd rather sit in a casino than in the BKK Hilton

Possible but sure not Mr. Norbet, maybe Norbert. By the way knowing that his name is Norbert is sure helpfull, as there are only 10 Mill. Norberts arround.....

The yabba hijaaked the car taking the woman as a hostage. She had no say in the matter. The yabba threatened to kill the woman unless the German guy took those two bags, disappeared forever, and used the contents of the bags to live happily ever after.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!!!
