VIDEO: Dramatic rescue from Petchabhun flash floods

PHETCHABUN: -- Ten Thai tourists were saved from a flash flood in Phetchabun province yesterday after a dramatic two-hour rescue.

Upon being saved, the tourists all said the same thing: “It's like we've been given another life.”

The flash flood ran down from a mountain in Petchabhun's Thapol district, engulfing the ten tourists who were visiting Wang Hin Hor Waterfall, DailyNews reported.

As the water rose rapidly, rescue officers saved the ten tourists by securing a rope line and helping them out to solid ground. [read more...]

where is Thapol district? anyone know it?

I used to live there and visited the waterfall many times. It's actually called Thapon district and lies halfway between Phetchabun and Lomsak.

Brave men and heroes indeed, good to hear no one was more seriously hurt ,

Brilliant - the word 'heroes' is misused far too often. In this case it is justified, actually risking one's own life to save others.
