Human rights panel members told to resign for pro-Democrat report

BANGKOK, Aug 14 – A pro-government Red Shirt group today rallied at the headquarters of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and called on members to resign en masse for its “distorted” conclusion on the 2010 political protest.

Pongpisit Kongsena, alias Lek Bandon, leader of the People’s Power Alliance, spoke through a loudspeaker, charging the NHRC members with tarnishing the commission’s reputation for its latest report on the political rally by the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) on March 12-May 19, 2010.

He said the NHRC’s report was in favour of then prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his deputy Suthep Thaugsuban who were “shielded” from offences despite their violations of human rights.

They said the NHRC was obliged to protect the people’s rights but its members failed to fulfill their duties.

In a sarcastic gesture, they handed over a batch of resignation letters and applications as members of the Democrat Party to the NHRC members. Mr Abhisit and Mr Suthep are Democrat MPs.

Kanchai Kongsaneh, NHRC deputy secretary general, received the protesters’ letter and promised to forward it to the commission.

The protesters gave the NHRC 15 days to announce their resignations and threatened to take “the next step” if the commissioners insist on staying in power. They did not elaborate.

The protesters finally dispersed without any violence. (MCOT online news)

Oooooo they're going to take the 'next step'.

What a bunch of peaceful protesters! They could threaten to kill the panel members and even actually do real harm but they will still consider themselves 'peaceful.' What a bunch of lowlifes!

So they asked the authors of the report to resign ...........for telling the truth!

Thailand hub of morality.

threatened to take “the next step”

Same as they threatened on stage back in 2010, and they did what they promised, Bangkok did burn (well parts of it).

I guess we're coming full circle once again with more protests from both sides and disruption and misery and and and . . . oh wait, we haven't had a coup for a while . . . that'll be next!

Thailand + morality . . . bit of a misnomer there I think.

EDIT: awaits outraged comments from the "if you don't like Thailand, leave" and the "you're only a guest here" brigades.

Demanding and threatening, how very typical of the Red Shirt mob.

PRO-GOVERNMENT MOVEMENT
Reds demand resignation of rights commissioners

The Nation

BANGKOK: -- A pro-government red shirt network on Wednesday rallied at the headquarters of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and called on members to resign en masse for its "distorted" conclusion on the 2010 political protest.

Pongpisit Kongsena, alias Lek Bandon, leader of the People's Power Alliance, spoke through a loudspeaker, claminng the commissioners tarnished their own reputation for its latest report on the political rally by the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) on in May 2010.

The Nazi type government is not dead. These are the enforcers of the PTP. Today in parliament it was brought up that the Res Shirts are part of the PTP, and that the government is paying for the setting up of red shirt villages. ph34r.pngph34r.png

So ... what is the "next step"? Anyone who tries to maintain that the Red Shirts are anything other than a bunch of thugs has really been paying attention.

Rent a mob strikes again. Who puts these idiots up to their 'resign or else' protests?

No wavering from the PTP line allowed.

So that's the CC, Admin court, NHRC, Ombudsman all targeted for 'reform' or abolition. Who's next?

The protesters finally dispersed without any violence.

Pffff....another close call!

Oooooo they're going to take the 'next step'.

What a bunch of peaceful protesters! They could threaten to kill the panel members and even actually do real harm but they will still consider themselves 'peaceful.' What a bunch of lowlifes!

The "next step"... let me guess..... Burn down the building?

I'm more interested to hear how the red apologists explain this away

They've also prepared the retrospective 'amnesty' paperwork to ensure they aren't accountable for 'the next step' actions.

will these retards ever go away?

Can they all just go live with their dear leader in dubuy

What next .. if they do not resign ... protests in bkk ... maybe burn the city down

As usual, anything viewed as not favorable to the UDD must be biased and cannot be tolerated. But then again with their 24 hour propaganda tv station, it is not surprising that many of them actually believe everything they are told as gospel.

By the look of the picture there are only 3 or 4 wearing red shirts and the one on the motorcy has a Thai flag not a red one so he might have just been passing.

A very pathetic turnout.

Of course the other 999,000 odd may have all gone for a leak or lunch when the photo was taken, or the buses might not have arrived yet.

It disappoints me to see this (red shirt bullying) happening in any country. It is so reminiscent of Musolini.

That's a good name for the R/S's demonstrators "Rent a mob" I like that.

If we're guests, you seldom get the impression we're welcome guests.

Mind you, the contents of my wallet are welcomed everywhere.

PT democracy. Do as we say or else. The stormtroopers have spoken, the truth is what we say it is. PT, UDD, Red Shirts, whatever they call themselves are nothing but fascists.

Notice how the monkeys always go crazy and demand this and that AFTER a verdict. They obviously knew who the members of NHRC were prior to the release of the report, so if they are so unhappy about the background of these members, why did they not complain before the release? I guarantee, if the report had been in their favour, they would have used the report to back up all kinds of statements and demands, not once mentioning how biased they consider the members of the NHRC to be.

we no like you truth, you bad
