angrybird
I have been asked to finance an addition to an existing shack, not conjoined but seperate. Apparently as a secure bedroom. All that is required is a solidly built room (bricks, breeze ??). one entry door, two windows, tiled floor and a flat roof. Floor area approx 3 x 3 metres. No plumbing is asked for, Elec probably just a cable to a power point, and fluorescent light. I guess some cladding on the interior walls would be good. Can anyone kindly give a ball park for materials only please ? My budget is 20-25 K Baht,,,is it possible ?

IMHO
With cheap blocks, cheap doors/window, tin roof and a cheap labourer - yes possible. Bannok Thai's build like this all day long. It will just be a cement box with a roof though.
thaicbr
As IMHO says it will be bare basic box. Concrete blocks are 7.5b each. Concrete posts are about 700b each. Then either wood or steel framing for roof. My Thai family had a basic car port done for 10k but was just 6 posts and the roof.. dirt floor. So I think your going to be spending all of that 25k. I'm currently looking at building a 6+4 weekend bungalow with with bathroom. Paint, tiles etc it's going to be about 150k+ If you manage it come back and post some pictures and costs.. it is doable but will not be pretty at that price. JaiLai
Cheapest option is to do it with metal and bricks / mortar - wood for anything nowadays drives the price up. most definately possible though.
