riki48
ปฏิบัติ Hiya, Can anybody help enlighten me on the use of this word with maybe a couple of example sentences.. เริ่มปฏิบัติการ .. I'm thinking is '' To start to do something'' or ''start performing'' Thanks Riki
Mole
ปฏิบัติการ means more like a mission. Exactly what are you going to do or perform? You can't be this vague because in Thai certain words are used only with specific context. But in a nutshell, in Thai, you can just use the word ทำ to mean to do something. For example, "To start to do something" จะเริ่มทำอะไรบางอย่าง Perform can mean many things, like theather performance or perform what? AyG
ปฏิบัติ to carry out, execute, implement - somewhat more formal than ทำ. Samples sentences (from http://thai-notes.com) นักเรียนต้องรู้จักปฏิบัติหน้าที่ของตนเอง ลูกทุกคนต้องปฏิบัติต่อบิดามารดาเพื่อทดแทนบุญคุณ พนักงานต้องปฏิบัติตามกฎระเบียบของบริษัทที่ได้กำหนดไว้
