ll2 Posted August 27, 2013 Share Posted August 27, 2013 (edited) Finally managed to sell my cbr250r last friday.I bought it for 88 k thb 2 years ago and sold it to an irish staff of mine for 80 k plus he paid the tax remaining before and paperwork around 1 k so lets say i sold it for 81 k.So lost 7 k for two years of use which is great imo. These bikes hold value if you do not buy a brand new one as you can see.It had just ower 21k km on odo and no problems no glitches. Clean bike with no accidents. Oil change every 3000 km so the new owner is a happy and lucky guy too.It was emotional at the train station to say farewell to my bike as i emotionally attach to my bikes easily and mostly more than girls!luckily rode it all over bangkok close to redline on our last day like a good last time sex with an ex:lol:I was about to cry to be frank with you guys. The guy in the first pic clearly has a <deleted> expression going on. I guess he's rented a cbr250 for a day already... But of course boring after a while - like all relationships! So, our separation is something good for both sides also, tiring to have mia noi - mia luang triangle! all joking aside, cbr250 was about to get rust as i was riding it once or twice a month to let teh fluids run a bit. of course once you have a 500 cc bike, it is getting hard to ride it for fun too. But i am amazed on how i got my money back on this. Here is my expense list: cbr250r 88,000 thb Mods, aftermarket parts i spent 40,000 thb (exhaust, APi tech Ecu, Dna air filter, bikers rearsets, modular passpager foot pegs, crash bars, shock stabilizers and lots fo other copsmetic staff) Service, oil, brake pads etc 5,000 thb total 133,000 thb cbr250 sold 81,000 thb aftermarket parts i sold and transferred to cbr500 r 20,000 thb aftermarket parts i will sell 10,000 thb total 111,000 thb So, 133,000 thb - 111,000 thb = 22,000 thb - the money i lost for 2 years of ownership with all those aftermarket parts like, pipe, API tech ecu, dna air filter, rearsets, pillion foot pegs and all those cosmetic staff. Means, a year of ownership cost me 11,000 thb which is less than 1000 thb a month and a perfect value for Thailand! I am happy with this purchase and i believe cbr250r is the best bang for your buck in Thailand if you think simple, if enough is enough for you and if you are new for big bikes and thinking to change your scooter with a clutch bike with a strong enough for Thailand engine that can do anything from commuting to going for twisties or even track days or long tours my cbr250r in its peak with all mods! CB500? thanks lancelot. i also miss my cbr150 but it is covered with full rust and i do not think so i can fix it anymore - buying a new cbr150 might cost cheaper! - will sell it by kilograms i guess i enjoy my cbr500r a lot. I did not sell my cbr250r and keep them both as i was thinking cbr500r might be harder to ride in city. But i realize, it is actually a better city rover that cbr250. So she is gone... I know buddy, if I lived in a house, instead of a condo, I would have kept the CBR150 for my every day bike If you ride over 150kph on long trips it may also be better on fuel consumption than the 250, mileage goes down from 275 to 200 during WOT on the 250. I record every drop of fuel on a spread sheet. I drove the CBR150 for 9,500 kms and my long term average was 38.9 km/L using Gasohol91 I have ridden the CBR250 a little over 1,500 kms and have averaged 31.9km/L with E20 fuel.
