Thighlander
walk 1 KM to Hang Dong Rd., and flag a yellow songtaew. It will take you to near the South East Corner of the moat. Walk another KM...you're there for 10 THB. Or get on a red at the airport and tell them Thighlander said 60 THB....they will take you to Night Basar. hellodolly
There are several market areas in Chiang Mai. You will have to be more specific. As said earlier 150 baht at the desk will take you to the one you want. Or if you wait around a red songtaew will come by.

DaamNaam
Get an airport taxi. Had plenty of friends tried walking out to get a songtaew to no avail.
wolf5370
Get an airport taxi. Had plenty of friends tried walking out to get a songtaew to no avail. Its easy - walk out the front of the airport, turn left and then right - walk past immigration to Airport Plaza - red songtaew there (40b to town) or walk to the front of the mall and Yellow Songtaews there. Having said that, it is no fun walking that far with suit cases in the mid day heat (or rain right now!) and less fun trying to get on a Songtaew with luggage! - Taxis are worth the price at the airport heading in to town (interestingly it costs 250 + 50apf to go the other way up to Hang Dong - or 200 + 50apf if dropped off before Somoeng junction)
CMSteve
Are you serious? I've been telling friends and family the 120 or 150 for a while now. They're probably wandering why I didn't tell them about the fee!!! Plus the 50baht airport fee Edited August 31, 2013 by CMSteve
