Guesthouse roommates, Nice to see you GO

I know, I know, why not just spend 15,000 baht a month and get a nice place. Well, let's say I bring USD 10,000 and I'm not sure if I will stay 2, 3, 6 or more months. So I start cheap, and go from there.

And that is where the comedy begins. I had the:

1. chain-smoker, right outside my window

2. door slammer

3. drunk, at 9 a.m.

4. late-night eater, right outside my window. 3 a.m. stuff.

5. yeller

6. crazy loud phone talker

7. the, "let me tell you all about my life" person

8. the, "let me hear all about your life" person

9. creepy looking, and always right outside my door whenever I get home.

10. the complainer, I hate everything about Thailand.

any of these sound familiar?

oh, would I go back? YES I WOULD. smile.png

because I must be

Starting cheap makes sense. Starting in a sexpat dump does not.

That's true. Who would stay in a dumpy guest house for more than 4 or 5 days when you can rent a cheap apartment for less?

Must have really been crowded out side your door.

Doesn't sound to me like you would like a nice 15,000 baht a month place.

I am fairly sure you could afford it for 6 months with $10,000 in your pocket.

You need to get yourself a woman, come back drunk and you wouldn't give a stuff about what's going on around you.

What are you doing at 3am to realise what's going on anyway?

And how long did you eventually stay in the room from hell?

Two places ago; there were people drying their circus pants in the hallway. Move away from the backpacker ghetto, and it will seem more normal. Unless, you're at a low bathroom doorway Thai place.

How Thaivisa has changed.............

Used to be a source of information and debate.

to my recollection everyone worth reading was given a leave of absence.

Sorry, but i dont remeber the good old days in quite the same way you do.

The place in question was about 4,000 baht a month, which I stayed, amazingly, two months. I never complained to the management, I liked them. I know it's just part of living in a guesthouse. I tried 2 different rooms, no luck. then I moved to a condo for about 11,000 baht a month and it was much quieter. no worries.

so many people on TV get so uptight. tsk, tsk. this is the LOS.......can't you all just smile and understand some expat humor? ah, no worries.
