Nok Air's starts Mae Sot-Mawlamyine flights
The Nation

MAE SOT: -- Mae Sot Airport has become more vibrant as Nok Air yesterday inaugurated its daily flight to Mawlamyine to serve mainly Thai and foreign businessmen penetrating deeper into Myanmar.

Mawlamyine is the fourth largest city of Myanmar, situated 300 kilometres southeast of Yangon and 70km south of Thaton at the mouth of the Thanlwin River.

To boost air traffic ahead of the ASEAN Economic Community, on October 1, Myanmar gave permission for a direct flight from the Thai city on the northern border.

Nok Air also connects Mae Sot to Yangon with a daily service. Thitiporn Kasomson, an executive of Asia One Travel, said Thai businessmen were enthusiastic about Myanmar's economic prospects and this service would facilitate trade and investment in Mawlamyine.

Not to mention a boost to Mae Sot's economy.

Yay

Another article said 33 people flew to Burma, and the return flight about a half hour later had 1 passenger.

How can I find out for sure if I can get a 30-day visa exempt stamp on arrival from Myanmar at Mae Sot airport? It seems like I should, since I can at other airports and that's the rule for foreigners that fly in. But I'd like confirmation. Nok Air doesn't know, and the Immigration Bureau's website doesn't have contact information.
