PATTAYA:--A 37 year old Motorbike Taxi driver was killed in an early morning road crash on the Sukhumvit Road in South Pattaya on Tuesday.

The crash occurred just before 6.30am and involved the motorbike and its driver, Khun Manat, and a Bronze Toyota Vigo driven by Khun Gongnapa aged 20, a student from the Pattaya Technical College in Soi 15 off the Sukhumvit Road, who was in a rush to get to the college when the crash occurred according to his Police statement.

He described how the motorbike driver had initiated a U-turn maneuver from the Sattahip-bound carriageway onto the Bangkok-bound carriageway and began to exit the slip road and move over to the left hand lane when Khun Gongnapa used his horn to warn the motorbike driver that he was approaching. At this point the motorbike driver appeared to panic and moved back into the right lane and into the path of the fast-moving pick-up.

The victim came off his bike and fell onto the road and into the path of the pick-up which then ran-over him.
