Kommiekat Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 NOTE (or not): I did an advance search and found nothing. If I missed the correct thread, please link me and close this up. I've got two dogs back in Hong Kong that have all their shots and papers. I was wondering, if Koh Samui has the same standards/procedures as the rest of the world about bring in pets (dogs). In other words, I assume they must have the correct shots, with papers to prove it and must go through quarantine for a month or so, with the owners responsible for the expenses (food/care). (?) Also, I am interested in purchasing another dog, preferable a pure bred PUG. Is there a place to adopt/purchase one? Now, before someone jumps my ass, as is the habit here at ThaiVisa, especially by vets who enjoy trolling on neebs like me, with the "HEY! There are dogs in the streets! Why you don't adopt the poor beast!!" please note: I have two dogs, one adopted from agency, one off the street. Also, there is a dog here at the Condo that is public domain that most tenants are caring for. There is also a cat that sleeps on my balcony I feed at times. So, I have done my part and still doing it..............
John 1 Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 If bringing in animal's this has nothing to do with Samui standard's. You need to abide by Thailand's regulation's.
Sheryl Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 If bringing in animal's this has nothing to do with Samui standard's. You need to abide by Thailand's regulation's. Which are described in a pinned thread in the Pet forum http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/88593-importing-a-pet-into-thailand/ No need for a stay in quarantine.
Kommiekat Posted September 4, 2013 Author Posted September 4, 2013 Thank you. I just had no idea there were so many sub-forums to ThaiVisa, otherwise I would not have wasted your time. Regards As to my second question, any idea where I can get a pure bred Pug? Thx
Mole Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 (edited) You seem to set a new biting and trolling standard here on TV by pre-empting it in advance. Now, to your pug question. It's called ปั๊ก in Thai, so you should just google this single Thai word and you'll find lots of results. In fact, one of the top results (just after wikipedia) is this which is exclusively about sales of pugs http://www.pantipmarket.com/pet/dog/dogs/small/pug/ Most of those sellers seem to be serious about their business and they are prepared to be able to show the pedigree and all that. In fact, somebody is selling two 3 months old pugs in Suratthani. It was posted September 3rd. http://www.pantipmarket.com/items/13846272 Edited September 4, 2013 by Mole

Perhaps had I not been attacked by a roaming group of Trolls within my first 10 posts, vet members to be exact, I would not have to be on the defensive. Sorry to shatter your views about TV, but I have not found it to be the exact Newb friendly forum. Back on Topic: Thank you for your reply. Sorry to say, I did not get much results showing stores, shops nor folks selling Pugs using your link. I'm specifically wondering if any of the pet shops on the island sell them, or, do I need to get on the mainland for purchase. But thanks for your help anyways.
Mole Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Try actually doing what I told you.... you know the google thing.... Also, that pantipmarket link is full of pics of dogs... they're all entries of people selling pugs... if this isn't obvious to you and you say you can't see anything in that link, then maybe google won't help much either. Nor do I think many people would want to help you with a pre-emptive strike like that in your first post. But whatever man...

Nor do I think many people would want to help you with a pre-emptive strike like that in your first post. But whatever man... Could you kindly stick to the topic? This is the second time you mentioned "pre-emptive strike". I can only but guess that you are baiting me? Secondly, I am more than aware of Google and it's purposes. 99.9% of questions asked on forums such as this can be googled but that kind of defeats the purpose of a forum, doesn't it? By asking a question here, an answer can be provided that will not only help the OP but also others with a similar quest. An archive you can say of readily available answers at one's finger tips. Thirdly, this line here: ".... if this isn't obvious to you and you say you can't see anything in that link, then maybe google won't help much either." I don't quite know what to make of it. Why is it that if something that may be obvious to you, cannot be obvious to others? And why is it that just because I can't get the information from the link you provided, I won't be able to get it from Google? What exactly are you insinuating? Better yet, never mind. I'll look it up elsewhere. Thanks for your help, dude. 1
Mole Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I am actually sticking to your "topic" since you mentioned the trolling thing quite clearly in your first post, one would think it's part of your question. 1

No, you're not. You're off topic, as I have already made clear what is on topic. This is the third time you've mentioned it. Kind of pushing it, aren't you? Now, please stay on topic, about pugs, to be found and purchased on Koh Samui or move on. ThxKBye. 1
Mole Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 In your first post, apart from that trolling pre-emptive statement, I also noticed that your question was regarding a place to buy a pug. You didn't say explicitly somewhere on Samui. BTW, did you completely miss the link I gave you where they're selling 2 pug puppies? This may be the closest place you'll find a pug for sale around here right now. And yes, you were right about wasting time.
Kommiekat Posted September 4, 2013 Author Posted September 4, 2013 Thank your for your information. Regards
cdnvic Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 This thread started with a combative OP and got the same kind of reply in return. 2
