USA Tourist Visa For Thai GF B-2

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I know this topic is in here somewhere, but there are so many, felt like a fresh one would be good.

First of all I stuided at MUIC this past year Sept. 2012 - June 2013.

I met my thai gf about 8 months ago from freinds at school. BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Would like to have her come in late decemebr of 2013. Its spet. now.

Things to know about her

  • She worked in Alaska with a J-1 visa about 2 years ago. Came back on time
  • She has finished studying so can't use that as a tie to come back
  • She has a job with her family business, she will use her moms statement
  • She will use an agency to help her prepare her documents
  • She has a dog thats very young.
  • age 22
  • Her family is huge

I am only 21 and have looked on many sites about occupaning it with a inviation letter. After looking at that it seems that I need to provide money from my statement. Since mine isn't as big as I think it should be I was thinking that using my parents statement would help to convice the consulate of approving her.

Of course we have picture of my passport and my student visa.

What are the chances and right way to pitch it?

Also she has told me that on arrival the immigration will chose for you how long you can stay. I think that is ridiclous considering how I will be able to pay for her flight.

Anyways, Let me know your thoughts on how to approach this

Her dad is sick, so showing her dads medical records could help.

bump.

Hello,

Have her supply the interviewer with her Alaska J-1, a copy of (or original) uni degree. A letter from her employer (her parents) describing her position within the company and her pay. Pay slips if she has.

Forget the dog. Forget the sick dad.

Does she own anything? Part of the family business, car, anything? If yes, paperwork to support that.

You should supply copies of your time in Thailand. Beyond that, the Embassy is not interested in you or your bank account. She may want to show money in the bank to support not working and expenses on return. Don’t stuff her bank, the embassy is not dumb.

The way to pitch it: Be honest at all times. AT ALL TIMES.

Immigration can deny her entry. Not much chance of that happening. Don’t worry about that.

Your time is short for setting up interview, etc. Get with it now.

Well she was denied, think it was due to her papers not making sense, this clause - INA Section 214(B) - Visa Qualifications and Immigrant Intent

Anyways now were talking about her getting a k-1.

Im only 21 pretty scared of the marriage idea.

No real income, still a student.

Pretty much what im getting at is can we just use the 3 months as visiting and she can return before its over?

Or will she be punished if we don't marry at the time?

thanks,

J
