lost key

Featured Replies

anyone know of a key or locksmith service to open a safe? the key was lost and hopefully can replace the key or make a new key?

Robert DeNero is pretty good at that lol .

The locksmith facing the moat, just west of the entrance to Wualai Rd can take care of it for you.

Canal Road, on the left going north, just before cnr of Suthep Rd.

There are safes on the footpath as an advertisement I suppose. No one seems to have helped themselves.

You cannot get a replacement key cut unless you either:

  1. Have a spare key (That can be used to take the copy from) OR
  2. The locksmith has a book with the codes relating to your make and model of safe.

Contrary to what is portrayed in movies, there is no such thing as a skeleton key (A key that will open all locks). You can however have master keys, but all locks associated with a master key have to be keyed in a certain way.

If your safe used a tumblar key, then you may also have a further problem as it requires a completely different machine to cut a new one. Its not the same as say a normal house key.

I do not believe there is an easy out for you in this case. Sure he may be able to open the safe for you but the lock system may end up being destroyed in the process of 'breaking in'. Cost may also deem it cheaper just to buy a new safe....depending of course on what size your safe is.

Try the locksmith but be prepared for any of the above whistling.gif
