Compensation sought after encounter with exploding transformer in South Pattaya

PATTAYA:--A Motorbike Taxi Driver who received a facial injury after a transformer exploded above him during a heavy rainstorm is currently seeking compensation for his injuries and loss of earnings.

In the early hours of Friday Khun Panupong aged 45 was stationed at a taxi rank in front of Soi Yensabai in South Pattaya when a transformer located above him exploded which led to a piece of hot metal hitting his forehead.

He went straight to Hospital where the wound received 7 stitches.

Khun Panupong returned to his taxi rank and saw electric company workers repairing the transformer and decided to ask them about a possible compensation claim. He was told to report the incident at Pattaya Police Station and then later in the morning, make his way to the electric company office in Central Pattaya
