webfact Posted September 17, 2013 Share Posted September 17, 2013 Russian tourist drowns off Phuket BeachEakkapop ThongtubPHUKET: A 45-year-old Russian tourist drowned off Patong Beach this morning.Police were informed at 11 am that a body had been seen floating in the ocean near the beach near the Impiana Hotel.Rescuers on jet-skis brought him back to the beach. Police estimated that he had been dead about three hours. Another poor victim of low swimming experience or lack of knowledge for safe beach swimming or cramp or overconfidence or perhaps some or all of these. Happens in Australia almost every day too.
