Important Update On The Recent Murder Of A New Zealand National In Pattaya.

Featured Replies

From this week's Stickman column:

"The case against a confessed murderer of expat Steve Miller has been dismissed. Chintana Vichachai, girlfriend of the 39-year-old Kiwi, and Narathip Kachawong, driver of the motorbike during the shooting, appeared in the Pattaya Court last week where the court decided to dismiss the case against Chintana based on lack of evidence and witnesses. The case against the motorbike driver will proceed, beginning with a preparation hearing August 28. Both previously confessed to the crime, but the girlfriend subsequently recanted her confession. I think I am going to be violently sick..."

:D:o

...Lack of evidence?....and who has the money??

So let me get this right :D

She's used Steve millers own money to pay the BIB bail money and "turn a blind eye and act dum" money, to get her of his murder (that she'd already put her hands up to) :D

Another nail in Thailands coffin :o

Well, if the money allegedly paid was actually for bail in accordance with the law, I should imagine it would be legally refundable.

The 'facts', as presented in the media and by others, suggest that bail was posted, but was that what actually happened? :D

Such an aftermath to Steve Miller's cold-blooded murder is totally beyond my comprehension.

This latest development will doubtless cause further distress to Steve's family and friends. :D

I am disgusted... :o

The appropriate action by the NZ authorities should be the threat of a travel advisory excluding Thailand from insurable destinations, a suspension of the FTA and a reduction in status of their embassy to consular matters only. It is only with such draconian action will the corrupt minds in this tin pot country be focused accordingly. How likely is that given the pussillanimous nature of the diplomatic corps?

I agee with you.

I too am disgusted. :o

If every country took action along the lines you suggest, Thailand would be islotaed within months. But of course it will never happen. Diplomats, emabassy staff and politicians - whatever their nationalities - are largely a bunch of self serving, lilly livered, amoral prats.

BTW if the rumours are to be believed. the cop that killed the girl in Kanchanaburi last year did a deal whereby he will be out of jail pretty soon. Watch this space.

me thinks sad but true

again sad gut true, if so i hope it is picked up by the world's press, it will be the only way that pressure will be applied to los.

but will they care :D

One of the truly sad things about violent deaths, especially here, is how the victim's reputation gets totally trashed. This man was probably not a saint, but I doubt that he could have been anywhere near as bad as some of the reports.

And now the ex gets away with it. Truly sad.
