Thai officials raid 'aphrodisiac', sex-toy vendors

There aren't too many places in the world where a public official is happy to have his photo taken while holding a dildo.....classic!!!. coffee1.gif

If what the oficial has in his hand is truely "Obscene" then how can he show it in front of the media knowing that the photograph will be shown to millions all over the world?

This is the most ridiculous one yet.
To what end? What is the purpose of these staged raids?
Is it for the benefit of Thais that have never been to downtown after dark, on any busy street, ever? These things are for sale every 3 meters at night.

It's so sad watching this charade over and over and over again. I can't imagine growing up in this environment. Thinking this is just the way things should be.

Now I understand.

These items are the weapons being used in a sexual war by assorted politicians in Thailand, hence the rush by the B.I.B.to confiscate those sexual warfare arms and also imprison those wicked sexual arms dealers.

Now remember lads, when on morning police parade briefing with small or short arms at attention, count to 99 then change hands.whistling.gif

BANGKOK: -- Items touted as aphrodisiacs, along with sex toys and possibly fake Viagra pills, were seized yesterday during two raids at Khlong Thom wholesale market and another area nearby.

And all that stuff sold by genuine people with fake faces. Last time when I was at Sukhmwit, I'd watched a cop next to these toy stores and child porn, who's chasing foreigners who had a cigarette/

The woman nect to the cop offered me a disgusting child porn DVD with little girls on the cover, who were maybe three, or four years old.

But the cop wanted to fill his pockets, not interested in all that illegals selling illegal stuff. -wai2.gif

Do not this take fake virga as my friend had died from this products.

He wouldn't have died after talking those. There's nothing in it, that can harm you. Hope your friend's in a world now where Viagra isn't needed anymore.

As my favourite drug cop back in Germany put it:

Those raids are like striking down onto a heap of flour with your flat hand; there isn't really less flour afterwards.

Glad those dangerous things are off the road for an afternoon or so. Just imagine the skin rush you can get from the contaminated PVC those thingies likely are made of ...

"nothing" in the way of Sildenafil perhaps, but sure wouldn't like to find out about the rest. That contaminated industrial waste is so costly to depose of nowadays ...

And what would you need a dildo for when you can have a real live person?!? Unless you're an ugly girl I guess. Or maybe you're a strange dude and you like to diddle your own bumm?!?

It's rather you might want that dildo AND the real person at the same time. I don't think Thais have much use for those things by themselves other than perhaps spicing up the back room of their farang oriented bar.

I have as of yet not found a Thai girl liking the idea of dildos, so it more or less boils down to selling things those affluent farang might like to buy, useful or not, at a good profit.

with selling obscene objects.

I wonder if this is truely a law or something made up by the thought police.

Yes, it's a crime to sell counterfeit prescription drugs. And you have to be an idiot to buy them. Hell, even the legal synthetic drugs scare me and I avoid them whenever possible ... but to take a drug made in a non-licensed, non-inspected who-knows-what by criminals is much worse.

That's rather: it's a crime to sell pharmaceutical products if you are not licensed to, and viagra is certainly legal and non-prescription. But you are totally right about what might be in there. Never mind the synthetic part, they actually work. As opposed to ground rhinoceros horn or dried frog pills.

Those sex-toys on the other hand are banned on ground of indecency or sex laws, and these really exist. When you take a look at the relevant "sex laws" of any given country, you really get astounded. It's all about unfathomable moral issues, most likely impressed by a majority onto a minority on grounds of "we don't need that, and so you don't either.

Like: US prohibites of prostitution, Switzerland prohibits porn containing excrements, the Dutch used to allow animal porn (now a Brazilian staple), in Germany you could get nicked for porn containing a positively 18yo actor if someone decides she looks just a bit younger (theoretical for the time being), Russia outlaws the display of any homosexuality

Don't go looking for any logic with any that.

What I find offensive is that these dildos and stuff are on sale on the street - apparently in Klong Thom but also lower Sukumvit. I don't take my 11 year old daughter or visiting friends out for Lebanese food in soi 3/1 anymore because of this crap being sold everywhere. Or, if I do go, I approach and leave from Soi 3.

Why can't they just move this crap into shops? Answer: the usual reasons.

They can't move it into shops because sex shops are against the law.

That is actually a very good point from both of you. I suppose in most European countries (and probably the US) shops selling that kind of stuff are 18-only (perhaps 15+ in Denmark or Holland) with their windows taped up, any displays on the outside would be lingerie. Mostly moot because of the internet, but actually not that different from Thailand with a view to hiding them from the public.

And so this is what you get from an even stricter law: out in the open to keep mobile. Ironic

Don't know about that, while I am away offshore in the oil fields of S.E. Asia I believe the "toy boys" in the bedroom get through a fair few batteries

A member of my Thai family sold non FDA approved drugs in his outlet. Not fake viagra but birth control pills and other 'medicinals'. He was even selling cooking oil in plastic bags also non FDA approved. All against Thai law, well supposedly. A new head cop moved in town and he promptly raided the place, actually turned up with a truck and confiscated the lot. Long story short my brother in law paid this shit a Bt50K fee so that the matter would not go to court and now continues to pay a monthly 10K fee to stay open.

Why would anyone buy fake viagra when you can go to most pharmacies and get Thai made Sidegra (4 tablets for Bt180) usually without a script?
