Rent Car In Thailand - What Company?

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm gonna spend a month in Thailand this summer. I wanna rent a car.

Which company is cheep??

I found http://www.thairentacar.com/car_detail.asp?CarID=2

or http://phuketindex.com/tsunamicarrent/index.htm

Are they OK on price or are the companies that are on internet too expensive and the local small companies are cheeper.

Is is a good idea to rent a car or just travel by train or bus.

Thanx :o

Renting will run you from 15000-30000THB per month depending on how fancy a car you want.

Cheapest reputable place in Bkk is on Petchiburi .... forget the name right now .... wait .... can't find it .... do a search here.

A car gives you alot of comfort in your own AC'd bubble but you miss the intensity of the city and the pretty girls on the BTS. Traffic is very very bad and drives some Westerners crazy. Also drving is difficult as Thai drivers are aggressive and you have to drvie alert and defensively.

Alot depends on what you will be doing and where you will be going.
