Theft- Some Bstard Stole My CBR250!

i dont no if this has anything todo with the theft but i was on my

bike yesterday and a police car chased me and FORCED me to stop.

i been stopped many times but never like this.i have a cbr250r and live

in sukhothai,they asked me for all the docs for my bike.when i asked what the

problem was they told me a falang has had his bike stolen so maybe they are

trying,you never now in los.i hope you get the T F

I appreciate your sharing this . I bought the bike in Sukhothai, but changed the number tag to Chonburi.

The CCTV video has a pretty good facial shot of one of the thieves.

The owner of the Kawasaki Ninja swears he has seen his bike around Pattaya, but can never catch up to it because he is now ridding a scoter.

some padlock keys are not distinct to their respective locks, usually in the order of 10 to 1.

I heard about a chap that couldn't insure his Aprilia and was dead scared of theft. As well as expensive alarms and disc locks, he retro fitted multi adjustable clip-ons and had them modified with quick releases where the control bars joined the forks. In 20 seconds he could undo them and remove the joining blocks and take them with him, leaving the clip-ons (complete with levers etc.) dangling beside the bike.

He figured it was hard to push a bike with no front wheel control, let alone ride it.

DO NOT rely on an ordinary padlock on the brake disc. Or for that matter a chain with a padlock. If in doubt, check this video:

 

 

I use a Abus detector 8000, and I can only reccomend it. I never had a false alarm, and it is almost undestructable. The only downside is that it is quite heavy (1,5 kg.) But that Again says something about the quality. I believe that Abus has discontinued the 8000 and are now selling the 8077 - but it Works the same way. You can see a video of i here:

 

 

I guess the only option if someone wants to steel my bike is do take of the entire front weel, but then the alarm would have sounded many times - and they would also have difficuties moving +250 kg. bike without a front Wheel.

 

 

The Abus Granit looks like it does what Xena aims to. But without the problems. A quick internet search shows no common issues for the Abus. A bit pricey at $225, but apparently reliable protection for a loved bike.

Had a friend lose her mio in CM, it showed up 7 months later in Sukhothai, painted matte black, with skinny tires, crap exhaust and neons on it. The idiots were racing or something and when pulled over the greenbook still had her name etc and she got it back.

Yes, I have heard a few stories similar to this, the bike shows up months later. But bike theft is rampant here and owners that actually recover their bikes are a tiny percentage of the total stolen...
