LATEST IS If you use your local debit bakcard for purchases GLOBAL now charge 7.9% for the privilige.

At Mukdahan the arguement is with BKB Card. it prominently shows the word VISA,hence the surcharge.

Does anyone else do this on a direct debit card..Doubt if Bangkok Bank knows kbut they will to-morrow,

They used to refuse cards and say cash only. Once recently I went in and had forgotten about cash and handed over my card they took it looking worried I think they took it to customer service and came back. I assume they have said no to cards in the past because they have to charge for them. It's a minimum charge of 3% percent on cards anyway by the card. That's why petrol stations here don't want them it's more than the profit.

Tell me again what's the purpose of a debit card.

No wait, soon someone gonna post here and tell us that he was robbed of all his cash on the parking of hardware store, and then the same posters gonna come and say that he should have got a debit card.

Shops that charge for use of debit cards should be exposed and avoided since it is an ILLEGAL practice.

I once had a bill at Global house that ended on 1 Baht, so i gave them exact change including 2 x 50 satang coins. They refused them and insisted it had to be a 1 baht coin.
