ok. i am moving to phuket soon with my desktop pc. my new place has wireless adsl. what is the gadget called that i have to buy in order to have this wireless connection on my pc?

and should i be able to plug it into any old usb port?

Assuming your desktop did not have a PCI wireless adaptor fitted -- check in device manager. You need a USB Wireless LAN adapter peferably with support for 11g wireless and USB 2.0, Google for examples they look a lot like USB thumbdrives. I have one from a company called Level 1 which is fine about 1900 Baht, depending where your USB port(S) are on the desktop you might need a USB extender cable to get the adapter into a good signal.

you neec a wireless dongle, a tiny little device that will add wifi to your desktop using a usb port.

there is some PCI stuff there but nothing mentioned about wireless adaptor. so i think i need to take yoru advice and buy the USB Wireless LAN adapter
